Question Optima flatwounds?

Anybody try these out? At 100 bucks they are ridiculously expensive but I have read that they are a reproduction of the original 60s/70s maxima sets originally supplied for rick basses. Any thoughts?

Bought a set off eBay for $69. They are going on my Fender P-Lyte Deluxe in the next day or so. I'll let you know.

I thought Pyramids were expensive yet I managed to buy 2 sets for less than $50 each. They are well worth the $60+ going rate. I would love to hear about these.

Just bought a set from the classifieds. Very different from Pyramids. Mellow sound compares somewhat to TI's. Feel a bit like rounds.
