I use Fender 9050's (flats) in my P-Basses. D'Addario Chromes go on my other fretted basses.

Way back in the day when I used to own a P bass I used Nickel and SS. Usually D'Addarios or Blue Steels.

I use strictly rotosounds on my p bass, and I'm gonna get another one one day with strictly flats. Hopefully my MIA Precision.....

I had D’Addario flats on but just took them off to put DR ss Low Riders on to get more of a classic rock sound. I like both flats and round wound for different reasons depending on what I’m doing. The best thing would be to have two P Basses one with flats and one with round wound strings

I use GHS Boomers for nickels and Fender Flats for flats on my P's.

I've tried Thom flats, Labellas, D'Addario XL, SS Lo Riders, SS Hi Beams and probably a few others over the years. The Boomers for rounds/ Fender for flats formula really brings out the sound qualities that I prefer in a P with great feel and longevity.

Pulled off the Ernie Ball Group IIs and replaced with ProSteel Mediums. I needed clarity. But I miss the flat vibe. I really like the way the flats slapped on the P. But I really need a flat with enough clarity to make it in our church that has a bit of that natural reverb. I am starting to think flats are better on a J because you can get more note.
