Dont you guys find that the 'rejuvenated' strings sound kinda different from a brand new set?

It seems like the low end is not as tight and the highs and zingy in a different sort of way. Ive soaked 2 sets with alcohol now(fatbeams and swingbass 66) and the sentiments is the same.

Its a cheaper alternative though, and Id prolly continue doing it if im short of cash, it does bring back some treble into the equation but seriously no one can tell that it is considerably different frm a new set?

Obviously "rejuvenating" strings NEVER EVER give "like new" sound and feel....

I've done it with denatured alcohol, Contact brake cleaner, Boiling water, Boiling Water with Baking Soda...you name it....

I've had best results with Contact Brake Cleaner...But then again..it only last a couple of weeks...

But hey...sometimes spending $40 bucks on strings isn't an option

I do it all the time, the strings sound almost the same to me. It comes close to the sound of 2 days old strings where only the sharpest edge is taken off.
