piccolo bass strings

looking for suggestions for strings to fit a 30"scale bass. As I understand it, the tuning is the same, not sure about the gauge or the length of regular guitar strings.

I use .13 gauge acoustc guitar strings on my 34" acoustic. For a 30", I'd suggest maybe some .13 or .14 electrics, using the ADG and B strings. Fair warning, though: the ball ends might slip right through your bridge, So i'd suggest putting a rod through the holes to keep them in places, or even taping the ball ends up.

Detach some bass ball-ends from dead strings, and thread them onto the guitar strings, slide them up against the guitar ball-ends... instant bass string!
