Piccolo flats - do they exist?

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently have a set of long scale D'Addario EXL 280 piccolo rounds on my Carvin, and I'm looking (hoping) to add a bit more thump/definition to my tone. They're just a bit too "guitary" sounding for what I'm going for. Does anybody make them?

Not sure a piccolo bass is in the correct register to yield "thump" regardless of what strings are on it.

I doubt these would fit a long-scale bass, but you could try a set of flatwound guitar strings, like the sort used by traditional jazz players on their archtop instruments.
