Hi fellow TBers

I have converted an old 4str of mine to cello tuning (0.70, 050, 0.25 and 0.15). But I cannot find any PLAIN 0.015 string long enough for a 34" bass. Help please

Thanks to my brother I was able to find a 0.015 Picato string that fits my bass (I ruined a set just to pick that one). Several other 0.015 guitar strings failed to have adequate length to fit properly. Still the question remains:

Any plain 0.015 long enough for bass?

If you can't find it, let me know and I'll direct link you to a couple.

Call Conklin, they have plenty.

I think your gauges might be a bit heavy, though.

I've had good luck with D'Addario guitar strings for length on what is normally the G-string peg. I've used a lot of different fifths tunings, so my memory is a little fuzzy on what gauges I picked for a cello tuning. But the D'Addario tension guides was a big help in building sets for various tunings.
