Hello fellow bassys,

I found these strings on an old Italian Hofner copy and they sounded incredible. The string broke so I'm trying to find a replacement set. Can anyone help me identify the brand?

As I know(somebodi can correct me) Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flatwound strings have nylon wrapped main wire and than all is wrapped with flat wire.

Is that cloth on the inside?
Bump, because I'm kind of curious

ETA: Oh, I guess that may be it

Looks like "silk" on the inside, like they do on some double bass strings. The only BG string that I know of that have that are the TIs flats, but they don't look like that.

Anyway, these strings are old and probably discontinued.

This one is a round metal core, cloth wrapping, round bronze winding, topped with a flat ribbon wrap on the outside. Also the ball ends are smaller than modern ones. They sounded phenomenal.

What does the top end by the tuning pegs look like?

FWIW - This is the current Hofner Bealt Bass E string by the ball end... The strings have the same tapered flexible tail section...

Thanks for the info. I don't have the beatle bass anymore (gave it away!) and the single string I have is missing the tuner winding end. I'd love to find a comparable set for my roots P bass currently strung with daddario chrome flats.

I was going to say La Bella, thanks to the pic that Jason posted in another thread and above.
