Please ID stock STRINGS on my 2008 MIM Fender Jazz Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Had this bass a year and time to change strings I think but don't know what Fender would have put on it to begin with so......

1) Can anyone ID these strings. They all have black threads at top and gold coloured ends. Feel light-mid kinda gauge. Sound good so never had a problem with em.

2) Please provide recommendations for new strings on this for general rock/blues tones. It's been upgraded with Dimarzio Model J PUPs and a Badass bridge

According to Fender's specs for the stock MIM Jazzes-
Fender Super Bass 7250ML, NPS,
Gauges: (.045, .065, .080, .100)

BTW, try some flatwounds or tapewounds.

Those are 7250's. IMHO/IME a very good string.

Want brighter? Try the 7350 stainless steel rounds.
mellower? 7150 pure nickels.

If they've only been on a year, they're just broken in. You can play them for another 10+ years with no problem. Stock rounds are still on my MIM 2000 Jazz.

But if you really liked them, I think they've been ID'd in the thread above.

+1.

Pretty darn good strings. I wish I would have kept my stockers. Just got a new set of 7250s today to put back on my MIM Jazz with Model Js and Audere. Brings the yum.
