ANYway, you can do it, but you may have to widen the slots in the nut. Then of course, if you decide to switch back, time for a new nut unless you don't mind the rattling.

| | | | Ive modded several EADG basses to BEAD. You do have to file the nut. Be careful if you do it yourself. If you get too deep in the groove, the sring will just lay on the board.
That will require a new nut right there. |

2) Reset the action height - a tad higher to account for the wider amplitude of the larger gauge strings
3) Reset intonation
