Problems with Pyramids??

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been touring steadily for the past few months with Pyramids on a jazz. And the odd thing is that unseen to be breaking strings fairly often.
I can't even say it's when undo anything in particular. They just seem to pop.

I've used them for years without trouble, but always on a bass for one or two songs.
Now it's on the main bass that plays almost the whole 2 hrs a night.
But I suspect it is in the current run of strings more than about how much they are getting played.

Anyone else finding this with pyramids?

yes i had this problem as well. the strings don't bend well (for vibrato or pitch bends). and i broke them. and they were $75.

labella or fender don't have that problem. hence why i use them and not pyramids anymore.

Rounds or flats?

Where is the string breaking?

I will assume flats. I had an E string break while installing it on a P Bass. The fat part of the string wound a little bit up on the post, and it sprang right there. Max at Pyramid sent me a new E string all the way from Germany with the winding just a little shorter than standard, and it has been fine ever since. Great customer service.

Flats.
An e. Two a's. Two d's now.

Break is up mid neck I think. Not at the tailpiece.

A little bit sticky, but no breaking.
