Pryamid alternative?

I want to put flatwounds on my short scale bass. I've tried Pryamid on my boss's Hofner beatle bass and I love them, but I don't want to spend $75 on a pair. Is there an alternative that isn't expensive?

If you want to stick to 100% nickel flats you could consider the Hofner brand which are made by Pryamid or the TI flats.
