Pyramid or Alembic?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I've been using rotosound nickel on steel round wound strings for quite a long time now and I am now feeling like experimenting with different brands and types of strings. With a dab of extra money I feel like checking out Pyramid pure nickel strings, though I've also considered buying Alembic steel strings. Both of these are round wound, and I was curious if anyone has tried either of these types before. I know that I enjoy the sound of Alembic basses but the tone of the bass itself might offset my interpretation of the strings, so if anyone has tried Alembic strings on any ol' bass I'm curious as to what it sounds like.
