Try to allow them to break in before passing judgement (about 40 hours of playing). Too many people on this board always report "these strings sound great out of the package but go dead too quickly". Unfortunately, most people are using the word "dead" to describe strings that are broken in. IMO, if you don't like the sound of specific strings after they've broken in, then you're choosing the wrong strings in the first place.
After testing strings for a long time, I've learned that most strings that you like out of the package, you'll generally not like after break-in (not all, but most). On the other hand, a lot of strings that you DON'T like out of the package, you might really like after break-in.
