Q regarding changing strings for the first time

I'm a guitarist but I play a little bass too. I want to change my strings and I wondered if I string them exactly the same as a guitar. Anything I should do differently? Any tricks I should be aware of?

Most basses are strung just like most guitars. Other than leaving more string behind the tuner post when you trim prior to stringing up, it's the same. On a Fender type bass, you want to have the string go 5" beyond the tuner used (so if you're trimming a low E string, trim it between the D and G tuners).

well, it's a little different because on a guitar there's a hole through the post that you run the string through. On a bass you push the end down through from the top into the post then bend it down through the slot.
