Question for ABG players.

I got my first Accoustic today and i'm really enjoying it except, the bronze strings that came on it. These things are are a trip. Sticky, noisy, WAY to much tension. So, my question to you guys is.. What kind of strings do you use for less noise, friction, tension etc? How do nickels sound/act on an ABG? I appreciate any feedback or info. Thanks!

Lots of people like nylon tapewound strings on acoustic basses. LaBella makes good ones, as does Fender. Fender's "Nylon Filament Tapewound" strings are very low tension.

I like the Phosphor Bronze strings myself. But I also play acoustic guitar so I'm used to the feel and sound of them.

TI Flats or D'Addario Chromes are what I have had the most luck with. The TIs will have less tension.

I have a Yamaha semi hollow body, and have had little success with rounds of any sort, and I've tried several.

Philbiker's suggestion, as always, is a good one. Tapes would quite likely work out fine.

Thanks for the replies... i'll probably try out the fender nylons and see how they feel for a while.
