Question about strings

Sign in to disble this ad
I have yamaha acoustic and musicman stingray bass.

How often do you have to change the strings on acoustic and bass?

Can you guys recommend me good strings??

I've been playing bass for about 2 yrs now, and I haven't changed strings before. I just got the stingray bass about two weeks ago tho.

Thanks guys.

Depends on many variables.

How dead do you like your strings? Some people never change strings and have strings that are over 15 years old!

There are many brands of strings, but those that usually go around here are DR Lo-rider/Hi-beam, Ernie Ball Slinky, Elixir coated that last an extra long time.

Other than there, there are hundreds other brands... GHS, Fender, Warwich, D'Addrio, La Bella... Roundwound, Flatwound, Half-would, etccccccccccc.

You need to specify what you're looking for.

"BullHorn" pretty much covered everything above. If you are happy with the tone and feel of your strings, then why change ? It all depends on what sound you want. What strings, and when you change them is a matter of personal taste.

From my experience, a Stingray sounds best with Ernie Ball Slinky's or DR HighBeam or FatBeams.
