Question for the flat people...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hiya,

Here's my issue, I have a late 80's G&L SB-2 (Leo signature on the headstock, the kind of longer one) that I would love to put flats on however, my favorite flats, Chromes, won't work. The G is a little too short. Uncut the string will only wrap about 1-1/3 turns around the peg and that combined with the silk wrapping, it just slips off. (I put unwrapped roundwounds on there and those have 1-1/5 turns but don't slip)

So, I'm looking for some suggestions for flats that will:

A: Fit the bass properly and not slip

and

B: not be duller than Chromes

Tom

I think extra long TI Flats work, too. Not endorsing this company. JF364 I think would work http://www.stringsandbeyond.com/thjaniflworo1.html
