A question for La Bella players.

I really like the Hard Rockin Steel 5 string set a lot, but I like the E and B strings (the tapered ones) better than the A, D, G. I notice this especially when playing rock and going from the E to the A string. Notes on the A feel stiffer and sounds thinner. It doesn't have the fat punch of the tapered E string.

Anybody else hear the same thing?

Is the "super steps" set basically the same thing but all tapered? What about the "deep talkin" roundwound set?

Talk to me about some of the other LaBella roundwound string sets ...

Weird... I have 2 basses set up with those right now, one is strung BEAD and the other is a standard 4 string set. The tapered strings bounce more, but I don't notice a thinner tone on the non-tapered strings. Maybe your pickups need adjustment? Or maybe you'd just prefer a set of all tapered strings, like the SR2000.
