I have never played the Halfwounds so I can't compare them, but the Silencers were about the same tension as D'Addario XL's.

SIT Silencers...

I didn't care for them. The first couple strings are basically medium, while the 3rd and 4th are light, and the low-B is super-duper light at just .120. Not surprisingly, they felt uneven. Tone-wise, nothing special. Plus enough finger squeak to make the name "silencers" questionable.

Why don't you try thinner D'addarios? They have "super soft" and "soft" half rounds... http://www.juststrings.com/daddarioe...halfround.html Ken Smith and Status Graphite also make half rounds in lighter gauges. I actually ordered a set from Status, though I discovered flats while waiting for them.
