Quick Fat-beams question.

Sign in to disble this ad
How is the tension compared to Hi-beams? I like hi-beams but the tension is a little low for my liking.I'm buying a new set of strings tomorrow,if Fats are as sloppy as the hi's,I wont buy them.

Thanks!

I find the tension to be very close between the two, and probably isn't what you are looking for. If you like DR stainless steel strings, but don't like low tension, check out lo-riders.

No problem!

DR Hi-Beams are wound upon a round core resulting in a string with lower tension for ease of playing. DR Lo-Rider strings are wound upon a hexagonal core resulting in stiffer feel. Good luck in your string search!

HA! I was thinking I was going to do something for hours but couldn't remember it. I was going to look at DR's site for core differences between the string!

Thanks again.

FatBeams are slightly stiffer but not as much as yuor looking for anyway. Go with the LO-Riders.

Yep,I guess I'll go with the lo-riders. I changed my mind on the "sissy" .35 too. I'll go with .45 as usual.
