Looking for some fast info on Fender Flats. Local store has the light set but it is a diiferent gauge than what the Fender site says. The set in the shop says the E is .98 and the Fender site says the light set E is .100. Perhaps Fender changed the light set recently and the store has old sets? Also, the G is .50. Is the G super tight tension wise? Is the whole set, even though it is the light set, still fairly high in tension? I want to try a more "traditional" flatwound instead of my low tension TI's and wondered if this would be a good starting point?

For the current Fender flats, the 9050, the E strings are .095, .100 and .105 for the L, ML and M sets respectively. What is the model number on the packet you saw at the store?

I don't know about the gauge of the older Fender flats not made anymore, who knows? Were the silks green on the ones at the shop? If so I'd be interested in them if there is a spare set you don't want.
