Quick question! (About string/scale length fickle I'm in)

Hello TB!

Basically, I've just bought a set of D'addario semi flat wounds (regular light gauge) without looking at the label properly (I was in a rush). I went home and realized that I had bought a medium scale length (32") for my 34" Yamaha. The strings at one end sort of 'thin out' before it even reaches the nut. I know that that's supposed to happen after it reaches the nut. So basically, I have a set of strings that are too short.

Would it be wise to just string 'em up? Any ramifications I need to worry about? Or should I just take them back?

Thanks!

Yeah, not the right kind. Put them in the classifieds and someone here will probably need them.
