Looks like a previous thread on this topic got out of control.

I got a set of mediums and put them on my '74 Jazz bass and played them at an outdoor gig yesterday. It was hot and humid and these strings are "sticky". I had difficulty with both hands despite wiping down the strings between songs. I switched to my Lakland for the next set with DRs and experienced no problems. They sound great, the sound man said the Jazz had killer tone and sounded better than my USA Lakland. To sum up they sound fantastic, but for me they were very hard to play. I even tried talcum powder to no avail. I'm going to keep them on the bass in hopes that I can "break them in".

Anyone have any advice or a similar experience?
