Recommend me step windings - Alternative to Labella

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been using Labella Super Steps for years on my ESP custom pictured below and wanted to try something new.
The only requirememt is they need to be step windings for the Schaller.

The one thing that annoys me about the Labella's is the way they are "crumpled" (for lack of a better term) at the tuning peg end. You can see it slightly in the second photo. They do not stay in tune easily or wrap smoothly around the peg.

Any recommendations from people that have used other step wound strings?
