Recommend some strings fo' funk!

What strings do my fellow funk players use?
I like a nice bright top and a good amount of low punch, but I aint a big fan of excessive mids. I play slap and fingerstyle equally.
What would you recommend?

I like DR Lo-Riders or Dean Markley Blue Steel's. Pretty much for funk I like a stainless steel wrap on a hex core.

This, precisely. If you're talking real, true, old-school funk, then it would be LaBella flats. If you're talking about bright, without a lot of mids as requested in the OP then it would be something more along the lines of DR Fat Beams. These are about as different as they come. All I play on now is the LaBellas, but there was a time where all I used was Ken Smith rounds.

I can't disagree tbh. Ive been using the cheapest of cheap strings in all the years i've been playing but now i'm playing and gigging more and more with some pretty reputable acts so i'm thinkin it wouldnt hurt to get some decent strings.

Cheers
G
