recommend some strings for me please

Hi,
am looking into changing strings. Have been using flats on my bass but am finding that I like the growly mids and sustain of rounds but dont like the treble , have tried nickel rounds which although they have noticeably less treble , I find they dont have the growl or aggressiveness in the mids and even sound a bit dead in the mids. I am thinking maybe some half rounds or maybe some TI jazz flats. I am willing to try any type of string whether flat or round so any suggestions are welcome

I really dig half rounds. You get the best of both worlds. Try some GHS Brite Flats. They're cheap enough to try as an experiment, and I like them a lot.

Your're on track with TI flats.... Lot of mids and good top end. Not cheap but will last longer than the sets you will go through with rounds. Cheaper in the long end.

anyone tried the TI , Infeld Bass set of bass strings (the ones in the yellow packet not the jazz rounds) , i think jazz rounds may be close to what I want but I dont think I could handle a .89 E string

Have you tried DR Low Riders? I really love the nickel version of those...they also come in SS, but those are just a tad too trebly to my ear. I recently became a LaBella Deep Talkin' Jamerson string convert and love them, but I like to keep rounds on my Sterling. I think the DR Low Riders are a really nice compromise. Never liked any of the half rounds I've ever tried.
