Recommendations after an unexpected breakage

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm sitting there playing and my G string all of a sudden breaks when I get up. How weird. I guess I might have popped too hard or something.

Anyway, it happened now, and I guess I should get a new set. And since this set is now split up I can try something new. I was playing on D'addario EXL 160's. Which I liked, but they were a little bit too bright for me, and a tiny bit too snappy. Im looking for something a tad fatter, does anyone have suggestions as to what I might enjoy? If it makes a difference they were on a 4 string rockbass corvette.
