Less pressure is certainly a good advice, but did you ever try to change 8 year old habits?
So, has anyone experience he likes to share with the use of some lubricant on tapewound strings? |
I've heard of baby powder for ease of playing and to protect the strings on a little Ashbury I borrowed once. I've also seen it mentioned for ease on plucking fingers on roundwounds. I remember reading on here that Steve Harris does this? I don't know if it's true or not. I just know I can't play more than 3 or 4 songs like him without going "ouch!" and I've been meaning to try this as a solution.
Try changing 8 year old habits! Don't give up! I've gone from pointer-middle plucking to pointer-middle-ring over the course of a few months after 7 years of playing. I use both, but now my potential for fast plucking is much greater. It also helped with my triplets, a lot.
