restring bass now or after move?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys. I currently live in Phoenix, AZ. I am moving to New Hampshire in a few weeks. I need to restring. Do I put them on now, or should I wait until I get there? There are currently no strings on the bass, as I was adjusting the neck and putting on new tuners.

Thanks.

Since theres no strings on it, Id say restring it. Try out the new tuners and play the thing a little or more between now and packing it for the move.

I'd restring now, but don't tune them completely, leave them a little detuned to avoid putting alot of pressure on the neck. I shipped my bass for NJ to AZ about a week ago this way and it worked out fine.

Oh the move has temporarily put my Turbo Tuner purchase on hold. I won't be in tune for quite some time I believe...
