Seems cool, I might give those a shot, I've felt like trying new strings lately. |

I just got an email from Jens today - he's gonna do something about the windings in the next production batch so that they don't end up resting on the saddles. That's one less reason not to buy the swordsteels
If you love the bright, hi-fi'ish tone - you owe it to yourself to get a set of these strings. As I mentioned in my earlier post, they're the most balanced and responsive strings I've ever played on. After having them on my bass for just over 2 weeks, they still amaze me with their harmonic richness. Great stuff those
BTW - I'm no dealer/distributor... just a very happy customer

Even if there pretty expensive, they might be what I'm looking for.
thanks

| | | | I play a 5-string set for a month.
I totally agree with rusty's review : feeling and tone are both very very good.
The B is not floppy compared to the other strings.
My only complaint would be about overall tension, which is too low for my taste.
My bass is 34" and Ritters are 35", so I believe they were tailored for that scale. |

They have a nice brilliance that isn't harsh. I'm really used to nickel rounds or TI jazz flats, and I was ready to wince at steel harshness, but these sound very rich and full. The slap tone is decent but not the most aggressive. The tension feels very good to my fingers, but I tend to prefer a softer tension. Anyone found any kind of discount for these? Gonna be pricey to keep these on my basses long-term. |

I must say that these are extremely high quality strings. The tensions are lovely and they are surprisingly smooth and warm for stainless steel strings. Fingerstyle, the tone is great. Really fat and also articulate. These strings seemed like a near perfect match for my Corvette... until I slapped. Holy cow, the slap tone on these strings is terrible. The slap tone is really mushy and sounds like garbage. Granted, yes, I hardly slap in my playing but on the rare occasion I do, I want it to sound fierce.
In short, Ritter Swordsteels are amazing strings in terms of smoothness, tension, and feel and a must-try for those who play fingerstyle exclusively. But this string is a total avoid-like-the-plague for slappers.
I have the DR nickel Lo-Riders back on my bass. I'm liking the DR vibe, but I wanna go back to SIT Silencers.
