I was trying to figure that out the other day myself SLaPiNFuNK when I noticed the set with 85 was packaged with the rotosound lion of olde on the pckg cover. But came to same consclusion as you that 80 was better for more balanced set.

Until this thread, I did not know Rotosound had a .045 .065 .085 .105 set, only .045 .065 .080 .105... The 66LF does not appear on their price list but does on their website... I guess thats why I hadn't sold any yet because they were not listed on my site!
The .045 .065 .080 .105 set (RS66LD) is their best selling Bass string set for a reason.
Its a shame that there are so few balanced sets with gauges that are manufactured in increments of 0.005". I wish the Rotosound 66 came in a set of 105 80 60 45. The strings would have more or less equal tension. Oh well.
