I tried a set of Rotosound's short scale flatwounds for my EB-3. All I can is wow...they completely nailed the tone I was going for. Very good strings.

A crappy set of strings. Harsh sounding flats. Me not like.

You really should try them yourself to see if YOU like them. After reading some good reviews here on TB i bought a set. Didn't like them, so i bought a set of SM77 (40-100). Didn't like them either. I like LaBellas and Pyramids which others don't like. We all have different preferences.

Roto RS77-LDs saved my Affinity P for me after years of hating it and all it was/wasn't.

After I put them on it came alive and I just went on from there and bought a few Fender/Squiers from that experience.

It was a hate/hate relationship I had with Fenders up to that point.

My experience is that they are a little stiffer and a bit brighter sounding compared to say labella for example...
Really great strings though!
The only reason why I´m not using them right now is because I think that labellas sound better on my bass, but on another bass I borrowed from a friend it was the other way around...

I say give them a try!

I have these on my Squier Jaguar and they sound good. I have used them on other basses and not liked them, though.

I didn't like them. I really wanted to like them, but thought that their output was too low. I prefer other brands of flats.

Yeah but they kick some serious lows.

The more they break in, the more I like them on my Fender P/J.
