Rotosound colors?

Sign in to disble this ad
All I've ever used are Roto's Swing 66

This will never change...

Does anybody know if RS will eventually make colored 66's...namely Black?

My Dean Fretless (Trans Black, / Black fretboard would look soooo very cool with black strings on it...

Don't try the set in that link!

Seriously if your ideal tone is the swing66's your gonna hate nylon flatwound, they sound dull with little to no brighness you can hear a sound sample on the rotosound site if my memory serves me well...

I'll add:

rotosound does not make coated colored strings.

If you like the new string sound and change strings every month or so then you are like me in the tone departement.

I must say I hated every coated strings I tried because they sound duller than new string, much duller. Usualy, when my strings start to sound like a new coated set it's about when I change them...

Colored Rotosounds

Back in the early 90's Rotosound did make a set of black strings. They were called "Spacers" and were essentially black 66's. They weren't coated or nylon - they were regular round wound black adonized steel strings and each ball end and satin wraping was a different color. They looked great on my Rickenbacker Blackstar but unfortunatley they are no longer in production.
