Exclamation Rotosound Flatwound Jazz Bass 77

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,
I was going to fit these strings to my P bass, but obviously i havent bought them yet. Do these strings sound good? I dont like Roundwounds to be honest, i like a good Rock thump.

So are they a good investment? Well they make playing sound better?

They're good strings, but a little bright, I like them on a fretless but I didn't care to much for them on my fretted p. If you want good thump go for the fender 9050m or labella jamerson.

They're brutal! Rather bright, so tou might wanna cut treble, plus they're stiff and thus hard to play. But they do cut like nothing else.

I have been using these for a long time. I loves 'em! Those who say that they are too bright, all strings are too bright at first. You have to break them in. My current set has been on for a little over 3 months and it is AWESOME! If you want old school, you want these.

.....IMO

I had a couple of sets of them on my Jack Casady.

They're bright for flatwounds, although not overly bright.

They're brighter than Fender 9050s if that helps you any.

I like them.

Mike

Brightness for a Flatwound is why I liked them. Too bad they soon loose it (in about a week or so)

Flat's Vs Rounds

I had these on my bass when I first started playing. I don't recall them being so expensive back then. I often think of buying a set just to try them again. Even when I restrung my fretless I opted for Rotosound Solo Bass just for bit of added brightness. If you are unsure I'd maybe try them before you go for a Flatwound string.

Good luck

I have a set strung on my Jazz right now. The "brightness" is a good reason I like them. These are my second set since the new year.

Thumbs up RS 77LD & RS 775LD

I've had 77LD's on both a Jazz and a Precision and 775LD's
on a Jazz-5 since day one. There is no better flat string IMHO.
Wipe them off every so often.

got them on a fretless jazz, a lot more cut than any other flats i've tried

+1 on them being stiff, they really ripped my fingers up when i tried them for the first time

I bought a set of these and hated them.
I like La Bella's and Thomastic Jazz flats.
