Rotosound Tapewounds; OK for through body stringing?

I'm bracing myself for a "use the search" smackdown, but I really couldn't find a definitive answer.

Am I all right putting Rotosound tapewounds on my through body Jazz? I know people have issues with heavy gauge flatwound Labellas and I hope I'm not going to run into the same problem.

Ok, so I pulled the trigger and put them on. However, first position notes are rather sharp. Am I needing to do something to the nut, as these are much thicker strings than I've used before.

They should be fine. I've used tapes through the body before with no problem. You probably only need to adjust the nut for the big E string. Even though these strings are large gauge you will notice that there tension is pretty low given the gauge.

If the strings are fully seated into the nut slots, no.

If you get the proper gap between string & 1st fret, no.

I actually found that the G was the only string that didn't seat fully into the slot. First position is still sharp.

This is not uncommon for the Trubass88 strings... they intonate differently. I didn't think they'd work to well with the tighter break-angle at the saddles if strung through... They're not very "Bendable" strings...
