I would be interested to hear what experience people have with theses strings, particularly vs. other tapewounds in terms of sound, tension, playability, durability, etc. Thanks for any inputs.

I had a set of these strings. Loved the tone but they always sounded like they were out of tune and would not stay in tune very long. I don't know if I got a bad set or what but I am not giving them a second chance. I tried them on many different basses Fender Jazz And P Basses, Epi Jack Casady,G&L L1K And L2K Takamine Acoustic Bass, Ibanez Musician and they sounded the same on every bass. Nice Upright tone but Just not right.

Not Bashing these strings just My experience with them.

I have them in my acoustic fretless and I think they are the best for imitating an upright tone. I have compared them to LaBella nylon tape-wound and find them more even tension and tone-wise, they are also higher tension.

Thanks for your inputs guys. I have basically been using Thomastik Infeld jazz flats on all my basses but wanted to try these. I read that Graham Maby, who plays bass for Joe Jackson, uses these strings, so I was curious. I actually have them mounted on a Fender Highway 1, but so far I like the feel and sound very much. Have to see if they will stay in tune over time.
