Rotosound Trubass 88 strings on a Hofner

Sign in to disble this ad
Just wanted to see if anyone with a Hofner Icon/Ignition has put Rotosound Trubass 88 strings on their guitar without having to do any modifications to the nut or tailpiece to get them to fit?

During my short period of owning my Hofner Ignition, I've come to realize I'm not a fan of all the "clak" noise of the strings hitting the frets when I press them down. This also may be due to the guitar needing a set up to lower the action but I'm guessing the noise would still be there. The black nylon coating on the Rotosound 88's seem like they would dramatically decrease the string hitting the fret noise.

not exactly, they are surprisingly stiff and they can still make noise... its the tone that is most different about them.
