Rotosound >What Strings active & passive?

Sign in to disble this ad
PV Cirrus 4 string (active) - I have always used rotosound round wounds and was thinking to try something else. String must come as an x-tra long scale.

Dillion 52 P-bass copy 4 string (passsive). Again, I have only used rotosound round wounds.

So, what strings to try? I have a history of over 30 years using nothing but rotosounds but may want to try something else, maybe something easier on the fingers that will last longer? These basses have totally different sounds.

For my active Yamaha I just put on a set of Rotosound Swing 66 Nickel strings (105-45)
For my passive Fender I use a set of Ernie Ball Power Slinkies (110-55)

I like the Rotosounds on the active now, because I've been looking for that sound for a while, these have only just gone on within the last week.
The Ernie Balls have gone dead on the Fender, which (to me) sounds awesome, I've had those on for a over 6 months, I forget when I strung it with them.
