Just slapped a set of these on my Tobias a few days ago. Can't get enough of them! I love the way these sound, and feel. Love that scratchy rough feel to my string... Its what gives you those manly callouses
Anyone else like these strings?

LaBella Hard Rockin' Steels sound similar(albeit a little darker) but retain their tone for a couple of months....a much better value IMO. |

I'm curious to experience the tapering off, as the strings naturally "die" down a bit. I hope I will still like them.
I worked at home with them on for about 2 days, and then rolled to band practice last night. I was warming up, and our guitarist said, "that sounds punchier than usual." I could tell it wasn't necessarily a compliment. But, when we started playing as a band everything was perfect in the mix. I felt I was cutting through with punch better than ever before. Everything just felt very responsive, and the range of frequency I was hearing was great, IMHO.
I like the profile of this string as much as I do DR Sunbeams (my usual brand). This is the right kind of tension I need for the rock I play.

Same strings, different gages, which I prefer.

| | | | I used them from about 1976 to 2006.Loved them however, someone, and I can't remember who, told me about the DR strings, specifically,Sunbeams, and I haven't gone back to the Rotosound 66 since.Maybe I should go back and try a set of them again. However,I have a set of Dunlops that are waiting to be evaluated. |

As it stands right now, it's a coinflip for me between these 66's and the Sunbeams. Both great strings, IMHO.
