Can I have some info on these? I did a search and wasn't able to find what I was looking for.... I have been using only flats for a while and I want my Schecter to have some more bite, so I have decided to try rounds again.
What's the normal life of these strings?
How bright are they?
How long is the break in period?
Are these high tension or light?
If there is a thread covering this please point me in the correct direction

To determine the tension you will need to figure which set you are looking for... The .030 .050 .070 .090 set is going to be very low tension and very snappy, while the RS66LD 45-105 will be a good "Normal" tension string if you will. |

The break-in period is around 2 weeks
They are fairly bright with an almost piano-like sound (this might be due to the fact that I almost exclusively use single coil basses.)
They have a pretty average tension
sound great with picks and fingerstyle
they are of medium-heavy gauge.

I play an average of 10 hours a week. Wipe them down with Fast Fret every time you play and they will last a long time. They are aggressive. They are by far my favorite strings.

They have a very bright sound, and they seem to stay bright for longer than most brands I've tried. |

| | | Sweet, thanks guys! I'll pick up a set of 95-40's next time I'm around a GC! The Schecter sounds really dull and lifeless with flats now that the set that's on it is thoroughly dead, so these should liven it up immensely

I think big bands where they replace stings even at sound checks, that's where they are really good. For me I just switched to DR Lo-Riders and I'm happy now. |

When I can get someone to answer my question over in the Strings forum, I plan on ordering some steel rounds from him. I used to use just strings, but BSO gets all my business from now on.

| | | | I used rotosound swing 66 steel since the mid 70's untill start of the yr as main go to strings. Mostly the 45-105 set. I regard them as medium tension. They are not as bright as most stainless strings Ive tried. They have a wonderfull tonal balance lows thru highs that lacks the bleh midrange of most and the somewhat harsh treble new of most strings Ive tried. Breakin time of about 2 weeks and lifespan on average for me of about 4 months before I want new ones on. Excellent agressive tone that sounds best when using overdrive imo.
I still concider rotosund swing66 steel as one of the two best strings on the market.
