I'm looking for some rounds that would suit a P-bass (I've found flats I like, but I like swapping inbetween the 2 depending on the gig).
I just want them to sound big and fat, as a P-bass should, with as little string noise as possible (finger sliding noise, not fret noise, my technique has that under control).
What rounds have you got on your P?

I'd start with something cheaper to see what you like - GHS boomers or something. I've never like D'Addario or Dean Markley, myself.

Don't let the name fool you, they aren't bright. They are steel core and outer pure nickel wound giving you more fundamental, less zing highs, superb warmth and best string to string balance I've ever found for rounds, usually rounds have D and D string too bright, these don't.
I have them on my Fender Aerodyne P and on a stingray copy with basslines, and they sound superb. Also great durability, you'll have them for months.
You won't regret it!!

I give the edge to the DR because I think the round core gives the string a bit more of a supple feel than hex-core strings.
But my favorite rounds on my Precision were (speaking in past-tense because she's been wearing a set of Lakland Joe Osborn flats for about five years now) DR Hi-Beams. Stainless on a rouind core.
