Roundwound vs. pressure wound

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,
long time bassist, but first time on this forum (despite all my other bassist friends telling me i need to be on here)
I'm getting a custom jazz bass built for me, fretless, ebony fingerboard with hipshot through body bridge. I'm currently looking at a few different strings, I know I don't want flatwounds because they are just too mellow.
Im looking at two different sets riught now -- rotosound swing strings, which are round wound and rotosound solo which are pressure wound.
im jsut wondering if any of you have had any experience with these sets? Are there any differences in how long they last, the sound, the wear on the fretboard, etc
I`m a rock and blues bassist and I like crunchy bass style. I also really like the bass workings of Flea, Chris Squier and John Paul Jones
