Question Rusting 6th string

Sign in to disble this ad
I got a 6 string bass about a month ago. Just a few days ago I noticed that the 6th(C) string was rusting. Do they have any strings I can get that will let my 6th string last as long as the other five always do?

I would guess that would be a Nickel plated set you have, as stainless rarely rusts, so my advice would be to try a Stainless steel set of any make you can get.

My 6 strings don't rust.

For what it's worth, they are DR Highbeams.

In fact it would be your first string. Musicians count from the bottom up.....

You're not using it enough. Get a 5 string...

Thank you.
I'm not really sure what they are(they are the strings that came with bass)
I'll make sure to get some steel ones.
Oh and alsoI play on the C a good bit.
Mostly when I'm just fooling around.

Sounds like a cheap set of strings from the shop.

I recommend treating your strings with something like GHS Fast Fret to clean them and protect them from corrosion. They last longer and play smoother that way.
