They were G&L factory issue for a long time til they switched to DA XL170's.
They were always factory issue for Reverend basses.
I like the nickle rounds. They're bright without being clanky, nice low end, harmonically rich in content, and a decent value.
I use either the SIT or DA nickel rounds on everything that wears rounds, except the one or two basses I have that wear stainless to brighten them up.
Also, "search." There's a l,ot of info here on SIT's...

They seem to be pretty close in sound to Fodera's diamond series to my ears. (Although I have F.d.s.) on my 34" scale bass. I've been pretty happy with them so far. |

I've spent exorbitant amounts of money trying out strings (especially on my Warwick) and in terms of tone and feel, Silencers are it for me. Whenever I have Silencers on my bass, I keep them there for months at a time. Whenever I have a string other than Silencers, I keep switching them out for other strings like underwear.
I've tried other SIT Strings. The PowerWound, PowerSteel, and PowerFlat strings are comparable to anything else in that price range, e.g. offerings from D'Addario, Dean Markley, GHS, or Ernie Ball. As for what's "better" that's all a matter of taste.
Still for me, Silencers are IMO SIT's best string.

These were bright adn tinny the first week. They sounded good for week 2, then died hard. the were just not worth it for me. I had the power wounds round wound nickel in 5 string.
I use black beauties instead on my G&L and I use ernie balls on my EBMM.

On a couple of my basses I use a light or medium gauge but 95% of the time I use an extremely light gauge
My string set gauge is 195 165 110 .80 .60 .40 .30 .25 .15
I like the overall tone of the SIT strings and for me they last more than a week.

SITs were available so I tried them out. Very impressed... now I use them on four of my other nine basses. (DR Black Beaties on the others). Good strings and budget friendly too.
