| | | | Sadowsky Blue labels... nickel or steel?
Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone, in the next couple of days I'll be ordering a set of Sadowsky blue label strings as I have heard nothing but good
things about them. My question is, nickel or stainless steel? I generally use stainless steel most of the time but I much prefer the smoother feel of nickels. I do like the slap tone I get from DR lo-riders. Anyone have experience slapping the nickels? Will I be sacraficing my slap tone b going with nickels over steels? I used the search engine but couldnt really find any details aboutthe slap tone of the nickels. any info is greatly appreciated. btw these will be going on a g&l tribute l2000

| | | | I'm a little confused as to which set of strings you are talking about. The blue labels are made by Sadowsky. The strings I am currently using are DR SS Lo-riders. |

| | | | Hmmm, interesting i was not aware of that. I really have no idea who literally manufactures these strings and I would like to know as well. Thank you for that bit of enlightenment. |

Besides, more than occasional slapping is just annoying. |

I'm sure he knows, right?
Let us know what he says.

| | | | I'm just going to order a set of
nickels and see how
it works out. If I really like them I'll order a five set. 90 bucks for 5 sets sounds really good when im paying almost 35 a set for
the lo-riders. |

Thank you for that bit of enlightenment. | It's pretty common practice though, you'd be surprised at who doesn't actually make strings. It's a pretty safe bet to assume that any smaller bass manufacturer that has strings (Zon, Pedulla, Sadowsky, Fodera, Warwick, Smith) does not make the strings. It's just not financially feasible. |

| | | Ok I ordered a set of nickels 40-100 guage. I really dont feel like ordering both and being stuck with a pair I'm not going to use. Then again I guess if I dont like the nickels i'll be just as screwed Well what's done is done anyone know where these usually ship from? |

i'm sure you can slap as needed ... might take some altering of the EQ to get the tone you might be used to ..?!
they are supposed to be Brighter than most nickel strings ..
they are LaBella , as stated before ... Roger's specs ..
putting the Blue Labels on my Jazz ...
i have a set of GHS PressureWounds on my G&L 1505 ...
they feel very nice ... but i'm not crazy about their slap/pop tone ... but i play mostly finger style ... they're very good for that ...
hopefully we'll like our new Blue Nickels ..!

| | | | I really like these strings. Verycomfortable to play on and the tension is perfect. I actually like the slap tone with these better than the lo-riders. Something about stainless steel just doesnt appeal to me like it used to. Too much string noise... These however feel perfect. They were very bright when I first putthem on but after after playing for a couple of hourse theyre right where I want them. I will defenitaly be ordering 5 sets next week. Its too good of a bargain to pass up. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
