Sadowsky Flats - Tapered B-string strung through body?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Lull PJ5. It's 35" scale, with string through option on the low B only. I purchased a set of the Sadowsky Flats with the tapered low B (XL's recommended for 35" scale.) The low B looks to be a little too long i.e. non-tapered string will wind around the tuning post. It looks like by stringing that one string through-body it will fit very well.

So, I know that its not recommended to string these sets through the body, but is that different for the tapered end of the B string? Will it be more flexible than the un-tapered strings? Or is the core still at risk of breaking regardless of un-tapered/tapered?

Thanks!

It's going to be a crap shoot either way. Whichever way you try it, wind the string slowly up to pitch. If it breaks, let me know and I will send you a regular length B string.
