So I'm kind of in the middle I guess. I wouldn't hesitate though to use either type of strings on either bass if the preferred option is not available though. I haven't noticed any intonation problems between the 2 string types on my basses. May not be the same for all though.

I like the tone and feel of the TI's, but again it's not like a "big deal" plan for me--I could happily put some bright rounds or non-bright Elixirs on my P bass. |

Just curious, but why do you ask? |

To be honest it was nothing more than a "just curious" question. |

As a self-confessed tone freak.
I've spent way to much money on strings.
I know believe, each bass has it's own signature tone.
And that one string does not work best for all basses.
I use these strings.
TI-Jazz-Flats.
Chromes
DR-Sunbeams
Ken Smith-Compressors
GHS-Tape wounds
Different strings, for different basses. |

On any bass with a Fender style, I use flatwounds. Roundwounds on the 'modern' ones.
Right now I'm using Fender for the flats, the others are Carvins. But I'd use any other brand that worked.
