Scale length

Sign in to disble this ad
This is my first post so i'll try not to sound too stupid...

Im looking to buy new strings for my Spector NS5xl (35" scale, 5-string)

I was considering, based on some good feedback on here and other things, getting some DR Lo-Riders. If it's not specified, how do i know these will fit on my bass? It's not body-through stringing btw. Also, if anyone has any suggestions for different strings, im looking for versatility: a semi-warm tone if i dial down the highs and finger pick, but also a full, amazing slap sound. Maybe sunbeams or another brand?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to TalkBass!

All DR strings have a length of 37.5", so they'll fit your Spector just fine.

You can't go wrong with DR strings. I'd also highly recommend trying out a set of DR Sunbeams. I have them on my Spector Rebop 5 and I love 'em! Nice warm (but 'snappy') tone, smooth feel & low tension.

Hey - while you're at it you should join the Spector Club here on TB: Spector Club.
