so i'm converting a short scale bass i have into an 8-string, and i'm wondering what string sets i should use. i haven't been able to find an actual short scale set of 8 string strings (even though the original 8-stringers were short scale hagstroms.. which have been reissued). so i'm looking at piecing together a regular short scale 4 string set and.. a guitar set? baritone guitar maybe?
what guage do you think would work best for the octave strings?
