Short scale bass strings????

So I just bought a short scale bass and I want new strings but I'm not sure if you can buy normal strings for the bass... I don't want to like damage it in anyway, but there really isn't a variety of short scale bass strings, just a bunch of generic average guage ones, atleast from what I've seen.

I didn't know there was a whole site :P when it type in short scale bass strings into any music instrument site I always get like the same 3 brands, neither of them I like.
